Dummy Cameras

Some outdoor surveillance systems may be a little rough on your wallet. Or maybe you don’t really think your home is in danger but want to be cautious. Dummy surveillance cameras are available for both indoor and outdoor use in case you want to scare away those intruders and spend as little as possible.

The earliest dummy cameras did seem a little silly since most came with plastic lenses and didn’t move or look functional at all. Today however, surveillance companies and camera producers have designed some devices that appear to be just as legitimate as real surveillance systems. Motion sensors today are often disguised as dummy cameras and others have flashing lights to appear fully operative.

These props come at a low cost, the cheapest leveling at around ten dollars and do the job of deterring petty theft and crime for small business and home owners. They are also especially popular among restaurant owners.

Although they may not fool big time crooks who have experience with dummy cameras, they are useful for warding off trouble on a smaller scale and giving you a small peace of mind. The low cost factor is a major plus for those who cannot afford real outdoor surveillance systems.
